CHN’s First Photovoltaic-Grain Integrated Project Connected to the Grid

On June 13th, the first batch of solar panels of the new-type LED photovoltaic-grain integrated project, launched by the Guangxi branch of CHN Energy in Luancheng Town, Hengzhou City, began to generate power and was connected to the grid.

The pilot zone of the photovoltaic-grain integrated project.

Located in Xinxing and Gemu villages in Hengzhou’s Luancheng Town, in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the project has a total installed capacity of 30.16GW and covers an area of 500 mu (about 33.33 hectares). It is the first photovoltaic-grain integrated project jointly launched by CHN Energy Guangxi branch and Nanjing Agricultural University. The project aims to transform dry land to meet the requirements for planting paddy. It has carried out experimental planting. On November 15, 2022, it witnessed the first harvest of rice. By means of “photovoltaic power generation + LED light rice planting”, the project explores a new model for sustainable land use.

The project can annually generate electricity of 31,105,900 kWh and save 10,000 tons of standard coal, thus creating great social, environmental and economic benefits. Its connection to the grid provides a good example for new-type agriculture-solar power integrated development and injects strong impetus into the company’s transition to green, low-carbon energy supply.
